Army Helicopters Spent the Weekend Buzzing Over Danbury

So just what was going on with those helicopters buzzing around the Danbury area this weekend?

I don't know about you, but when my house starts to rumble and I see a squadron of army helicopters overhead, I start to wonder what the heck is going on.

Now it wasn't a special forces top secret mission or an invasion of any kind, it was just some training. What kind of training? Watch the quick video to find out:

Now you know. It was "Army training, sir..." and for anyone who was also wondering, Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton took to Facebook to answer that question:

Apparently, since Danbury has an airport, the military will sometimes use the area to land planes or helicopters to either perform maintenance or practice maneuvers.

According to City Council President Joe Cavo, "If we were out in the Midwest, it would be an everyday thing. Around here, we don't see it happen that often, so when it does it peaks people's radar. There's no military aircraft operating out of the airport, this was just by chance. Weather it was scheduled or if the airport knew it was happening, I'm not sure. They don't have to tell us, they just have to request a place to land, and naturally we always grant that."

If you missed catching a glimpse of the helicopters, this was just a short training mission, and as of Sunday, the helicopters have now left the area.
