AAA says that in spite of gas prices being up from last year, this is going to be the busiest Thanksgiving for traveling in a dozen years with more than 51 million people traveling over 50 miles or more. It’s the highest number since back in 2005 according to Bizjournals. Almost 90 percent of people say they’ll travel by car this year. It sounds like things may get a little crazy for us on highways like I-84, 95 the Merritt Parkway 684, the NY State Thruway, the Taconic and other major roadways.

Travel by train and air will be the highest it’s been in a decade, citing the fact that airline travel is the cheapest it’s been since 2013. AAA credits A healthy economy, and job stability as the reason for the increased travel.
