A Small Connecticut Town Has Some of the Best Fall Foliage in the Country
I might have to argue that fall is my favorite season. I'm a sucker for the views and for nature and fall just really shows off all of those beautiful colors.
I love driving around and seeing which parts of the state show off the best fall foliage. I've come to realize as well that the more north you go into your New England states, the better the foliage gets.
Country Living put together a list of the cities with the best fall foliage in the country and a Connecticut town landed on that list. First off, the number one town on the list is Pioneer Valley, Massachusetts. I think I need to take a drive to see it if it tops every other place in the country. I've seen some unreal views around the U.S, so the top place being so close just means I need to go.
A Vermont town was number 2, New York made 3, Tennessee 4 and Stowe, Vermont number 5. I love seeing our surrounding states take those top places. We really do have beautiful fall foliage unlike anyone else. I kept going along the list and was pleasantly surprised with Connecticut sitting at number 14.
Kent, Connecticut was the town to represent Connecticut on that list. The article talks about "the long time farm community that offers old-fashioned charm." They called out Macedonia Brook State Park for views of Harlem Valley and the Catskill Mountains. Kent is a beautiful place to be and has been getting a lot of love lately. I'm not sure I've ever driven through there in the fall, but that's going to change this year. I walk through those state parks to see the foliage sounds like a perfect fall day to me.
Can you think of any other place in Connecticut where the fall foliage really sticks out? I will take all of your recommendations.
