As life continues to get back to normal after May's storms, the town of Brookfield has announced that significant work has been done on the Still River Greenway, and a portion of the walking trail is back open.

Two local firms, Wright Tree Service and Lewis Tree Service, agreed to donate their time and equipment to begin cleaning up a portion of the Greenway. Work began last week, and First Selectman Steve Dunn announced in a Facebook post that the potion of the Greenway from the Police station north to downtown has officially been reopened.

Dunn added,

We are still working on the Greenway south of the Police Station and we ask that everyone stay off it until it is cleared and safe. The southern portion sustained significantly more damage than the norther section so it will take a little longer to clear.

From the reaction on Facebook, the work was definitely appreciated and many are happy to have their popular trail back. Hats off to the two companies for donating their services to help get the Greenway back open.
