8-Year-Old Connecticut Boy Invited to Drew Barrymore Show
If you're only 8 years old and you're invited to be a guest on the Drew Barrymore TV Show, then you must have done something pretty special.
Well you could say this all started when Connor Vece's dog passed away and he just didn't sit around and sulk, he sprung into action to give back to his local animal shelter in his hometown of East Haven.
See, Connor was concerned that animals, especially dogs at the shelter, might not have enough to eat, so he encouraged people to donate pet food and supplies to his grandparents home. Connor even got a special visit from East Haven Mayor Joe Carfora when he learned what the young boy was doing.
So far, according to CT Post, Connor has collected $5,000 dollars holding pet food drives for the shelter and he also just had a Can the Van drive to raise food and money for the food pantry, and he's not done yet. Not only has this sparked a lot of local interest in his mission, the good deed also caught the eye of producers of the Drew Barrymore Show who invited Connor to appear on the show in a segment the show called "Drew Gooders".
The segment, that aired this past Tuesday, introduced viewers to Connor and another "Drew Gooder", and brought the two into their own Build-A-Bear workshop to create their own Build-A-Bear, who by the way is donating 10,000 bears to Toys For Tots.
The East Haven Shelter posted a big thanks you to Connor back in October.
