"Anyone who spots a buffalo please call the owner."

You don't see a bunch of bison making a break for it very often but it happened last Thursday, July 25 in Otsego County near Cooperstown, NY. when New York State Troopers were dispatched to the area.

According to the Putnam Daily Voice, one of the bison broke open a gate and let 75 others escape. It hasn't been confirmed whether the buffalo who broke the gate was working alone or was in cahoots with other adult buffalo. Don't let this happen to you.

It's been confirmed that in total, 30 adults including three bulls and 45 calves took part in their flight to freedom. The State Police have wisely warned the public not to approach the animals because they're big and nasty plus they don't really smell that great! An adult bison can measure between 7 to 11.5 feet long and weigh in between 930 to 2,200 pounds.

Anyone who spots a buffalo in the Cooperstown, NY area is asked to call the owner, Brian at 518-588-1402 or the New York State Police in Richfield Springs at 315-858-1122.
