5 New Milford Dogs Looking For Forever Homes
Every Tuesday morning, we feature an adoptable Dog or Cat from the Animal Welfare Society in New Milford. Since we only do our "Pet of the Week" segment once a week, there are many dogs that haven't been able to visit us here in the studio.
Here are Five Dogs that would love to find their new forever homes. They are all available now at the Animal Welfare Society on Dodd Street in New Milford.
- 1
Jemma
Jemma is a Yorkshire Terrier whose owners could no longer care for her. A shy and sensitive lady who really wants to make friends. As an older dog it is always harder to adapt and adjust to a new life and she is hoping for an understanding adult home.
- 2
Choly
A Lab mix whose owner could not take care of him. He is a large Dog, and at only 7 months probably has some more growing to do. He knows his basic commands and is a strong guy who is looking for a confident owner preferably with experience with large breeds.

Max
Max is a three year old Black Lab/Great Dane mix. He walks very well on a leash. He does know sit and down! Max loves to run for hours out in the field with his toys and plays well with other dogs. Max loves to be the center of attention and would really like someone who can take him hiking or walking. He is a very active dog but also just loves to relax when he has had enough fun. Max loves belly rubs and loves to snuggle. Max would do well in a home without cats because he loves to chase them.

Oreo
Oreo is an eleven year old Chihuahua. Initially, he can be quite shy, but when he gets comfortable, he will be your best friend. Oreo needs someone who has experience with either Chihuahua's or dogs that are insecure. Although he is a happy little soul he finds the days long at the shelter and just wants to go to a home where he can be with his special person for most of the day. Could you be this boy's human?!
- 5
Dale
Dale is 10 months old and is an athletic and dynamic boy! He is always ready for a new task or adventure! Chasing tennis balls for hours would be top on this guy's 'to do' list. He will need some basic obedience and leash work, which is an awesome bonding experience! Dale may also enjoy agility work to keep him focused and on task. If you are looking for a young and fun dog, Dale is your dude.
