Wine lovers rejoice — Sunday is National Drink Wine Day. That means you're going to want to hit some of the best local vineyards on the Connecticut Wine Trail.

National Drink Wine Day is celebrated annually on February 18, and its purpose is to spread the love and health benefits of wine. One way you can do this is to visit some of the most popular wineries in the local area. To make it a little easier for you to decide where to go, we've listed five of the most popular local wineries. Now you have everything you need to say "cheers" in style:

    DiGrazia Vineyards grows premium French Hybrid grape varieties exclusively. The winery makes a full range of estate bottled table wines from dry to sweet, late harvest, ice wines, dessert wines, pumpkin wines, white port and ruby port as well as Connecticut grown blueberry and Connecticut grown pear dessert wines. Winemaker Paul DiGrazia has become known for his unusual and innovative wine-making flair.

    Set on the northern shore of Lake Waramaug, Hopkins Vineyard, a family-owned Connecticut Century Farm, proudly maintains a tradition of making fine wines of award-winning quality.

    The unique location of Hopkins Vineyard makes it the only vineyard in Connecticut with a micro-climate influenced by an inland lake; this allows an extended growing season and successful growing of grape varieties which ordinarily would not thrive in our northeastern climate. Classic grape varieties are grown on 30 acres adjacent to the winery.

    Haight-Brown Vineyards

    29 Chestnut Hill Rd, Litchfield, CT

    The Haight-Brown Vineyard and Winery is situated on ten pastoral acres, representative of a New England farm winery.

    Haight-Brown Vineyard planted Chardonnay and Riesling on the slopes of the Litchfield Hills, near the historic town of Litchfield. In 1978, the State Legislature passed a Farm Winery Act and Haight Vineyard became Connecticut’s first established winery.
