If you live, work or plan to drive around Danbury for any reason in the next month, get ready for some re-routing and maybe even some delays on certain streets.

The Danbury Department of Public Works says that this Monday, July 9, marks the beginning of a construction period for several of the city's roads that are in need of improvement. You can expect detours as crews work on these areas which is expected to last  for the next 4 or 5 weeks. While the work is being done, on-street parking will be banned.

There are five roads that are scheduled to be repaired in Danbury during this time period:

  • Kohanza Street
  • Cowperwaite Street
  • Field Road
  • Crest Road
  • Greenview Road

The Department of Public Works is not expecting to close down any of these roads while the work is going on. If you need more information on the construction, you can call the Danbury DPW at 203-797-4605.
