45-Year-Old Restaurant Named Greatest ‘Mom and Pop’ Shop in Connecticut
Mom and Pop shops are so important. These are the kinds of places that you want to make sure stay in business for as long as possible. It's a tough time to own a business right now, and places like these have gone through generations and generations of putting everything they can into their family business. We saw how many corporate giants closed their doors last year and are continuing to do so this year, so keeping these local businesses at the forefront of our minds is important.
I will always gravitate toward locally owned businesses rather than corporate stores. They have so much more of a personal feel to them and they genuinely care about their customers. I came across an article from Love Food that talked about the best Mom and Pop restaurants across the country, and a popular Waterford restaurant took the crown for Connecticut.

Supreme Pizza in Waterford, Connecticut is a staple to many people. The restaurant takes pride in being around since 1979 and has earned the trust and loyalty of so many people. They are known for their pizzas and grinders and are a "slice of nostalgia" for many customers. I've never been here before, but based on the reviews, it's a place you want to go to.
The restaurant looks like it's nothing fancy and straight to the point. That's when you know it's good. The way people talk about this place makes me want to take a ride tomorrow. They have 4.7 stars on Google and many of their reviews talk so highly of them. This one, for example, is exactly how I see people describing Supreme Pizza:
The blurb in the Love Food article talks about how the family-run shop has kept their customers happy:
You won’t get anything fancy at Supreme Pizza, but that’s part of the appeal. Grab a counter stool and take your pick from the dazzling array of overstuffed grinders, piping hot pizza pies, and bubbling baked pasta dishes. The prices are reasonable, the service is friendly, and the portions are generous, so you’re guaranteed to leave satisfied.
Supreme Pizza is located at 27 Boston Post Road in Waterford and is open Monday through Saturday 10-7 and closed on Sundays. If you're looking for a place to check out, it seems like they are the perfect example of a great 'mom and pop'.
