What are the odds of three individual people being arrested on the same day, in the same state, for the same crime? That's a real question, I don't have the answer, but that is exactly what happened recently in CT. On March 8th, 2025, three drivers were caught speeding at over 100 mph, in three separate regions of the state and all of them ended up with serious charges.

Amanda Offerdahl, a 27-year-old from Cheshire, might have been having a little too much fun on the morning of March 8th. While driving a BMW on I-84 in Southington, police say she zoomed past a state trooper at an astonishing 119 mph. Police reports indicate she started weaving between lanes, putting herself and others at serious risk. When the trooper pulled her over, Amanda admitted she was just having fun and wanted to see what her car could do. Authorities say she also confessed to drinking at a bar before getting behind the wheel. Amanda was asked to undergo a field sobriety test, which she failed. She was arrested and taken to Troop H in Hartford, where she was processed for driving under the influence and reckless driving.

I blame Spring Fever. As soon as there are the slightest bit of sun and warmth people lose their minds. The 8th was one of the first clear and sunny days we've seen for a while in CT, and we had a high of 42 degrees. Boom. Science.

Recently, I found a Youtube video that gives a visual tour of a decommissioned missile sit in CT, located in both Portland & Glastonbury, CT in the Meshomasic State Forest. The video was posted by “Adventures in Melancholy” and the host does a great job of explaining exactly what we are looking at. The following photos are from the video and they are of the Hartford site, meaning it was intended to defend Hartford, CT.
