We've all seen the growing trends of car theft in Connecticut, and now more than ever local police have a stern warning for residents.

Hartford Police Department took to Twitter Tuesday night (March 31) with a very simple message: "LOCK YOUR CARS - TAKE YOUR KEYS."

Police have confirmed that a staggering 27 cars in the state of Connecticut were stolen in one day - most of these thefts happening in the suburbs. 20 of which happened because the keys were left in the car.

It seems like no one is out and about due to social distancing, but the criminals are still in full effect. Make sure you take the simple step to lock your car, take your belongings and take your keys with you. It will save you a headache, and, well, your car.
