Well it is official there is once again a house at 13 Harrison Street in the City Of Poughkeepsie. Yesterday afternoon (August 11, 2023) The crane arrived and the pieces of the house that will soon become a home were officially put together.

Earlier in the week I told you about the pieces of the house being transported up Route 9 in Poughkeepsie to their resting spot. Then yesterday the Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County's First Responders build officially began the assembly of the house which will be finished on Harrison Street.

Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County Builds a House in Poughkeepsie

Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County is on a mission to create financially sustainable housing while also increasing first-time homeownership.

Habitat for Humanity is a partnership. Habitat’s homeowner families buy the houses that Habitat builds and renovates with a financially sustainable mortgage. Community financial support will help families continue building with Habitat in your community and around the world. (Maureen Brennan Lashlee, CEO via Press Release)

Now that the house is on the foundation there is more work to be done. Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County could use your help. May even get a group together from work or an other organization. Be part of Habitat Dutchess' 40th home they have built or rehabbed in the City of Poughkeepsie.

100 Year Old Saugerties Cabin on the Esopus Creek

Barely listed for a month it appears that this creekside gem in Saugerties, New York may be already snatched up. At only 638 square feet you would expect it to go so fast but it looks like 126 Glenerie Road has a sale pending. No wonder why, it is adorable and a perfect Hudson Valley waterfront getaway.
