Seasonal Connecticut Restaurants Returning in March 2024

Every year we have to endure the temporary closure of some of our favorite restaurants in Connecticut due to the cold weather. As we sit through an extra day - February 29, 2024 - Keep in mind, we're only weeks away from some of our favorite seasonal restaurants opening up for business.

If you want ice cream, clam rolls, or hot dogs in the Wintertime in Connecticut, you can get them, but when the calendar hits March? Our beautiful seasonal seasonal drive-in's, seafood shacks, and ice cream shops start reopening for the season. Three seasonal businesses have already announced their re-opening dates for March 2024.

The first Legend that will re-open for the 2024 season is Southbury's Denmo's Drive-In, who have announced that they will re-open for 2024 on Friday March 8 at 10AM. Those Famous charred and split dogs and my precious fried mushrooms and whole belly clams make their 2024 Main Street South debut next week. Two days later on Sunday, March 10, it's Daylight Savings 2024, Lose an hour, gain a charred and split dog, it's a good trade off.

One week later on Friday, March 15, the ice cream will start flowing out of the retail shop once again at The Big Dipper on Waterbury Road (Rt. 69) in Prospect. Will there be another collaboration with LaBonne's Markets in 2024? I think I still have a pint of LaBada Bing! frozen solid in the back corner of my freezer, it's going on Ebay this Summer with my jars of Grotto sauce, make me an offer.

One more seasonal Legend will reopen in March 2024, Plainfield's Hank's Dairy Bar has set Thursday, March 21 as their opening date for the 2024 season.
