A 23-year-old from Pawling, New York has been identified as a victim in a double murder in the Miami area over the weekend.

Pawling, NY Woman Murdered in Miami

The New York Post is reporting that 23-year-old Sidney Capolino of Pawling, NY along with her roommate 25-year-old Meghan Moore of Centerville, Massachusetts were murdered in their Miami apartment on Saturday, March 16th, 2024.

The alleged gunman, Luis Napoles, was possibly a romantic partner of Moore's, the two used to work at a restaurant together.

Police explain that Moore's boyfriend was "enraged"  and shot Moore and Capolino dead at their apartment. CBS details the gruesome murder explaining  Napoles allegedly "showed up at Meghan Moore's apartment Saturday night killing Moore, then entering the unit and shooting and killing her roommate 23-year-old Sidney Capolino before turning the gun on himself."

Miami Shooter "Obsessive" Over One of The Victims

According to CBS News recently spoke to the victim's family and friends. Caroline Spalt, who was a former teammate of Capolino and Moore, told the news site Moore's boyfriend was obsessing telling them  "He was obsessive, he would harass her, try to contact her on different phone numbers."

Spalt added that Napoles was an "acquaintance who apparently wanted to be more."

New England College Mourns The Loss of 2 Former Student Athletes

Capolino and Moore were recent grads of New England College in 2022 and 2021. The 2 played on the New England College Women's Hockey team.

The college released a statement and is mourning the former student-athletes. They write:

Meghan and Sidney were known to many on campus, and we are keeping their families and friends in our thoughts and our prayers at this difficult time. As the campus community pauses to process the gravity of the event, it is important that we support and care for each other.

New England College will be offering counseling services to students who may need it.
