One of my favorite family restaurants, Friendly's, has almost completely disappeared across New England over the past few years. As of right now, Friendly's is down to seven Connecticut locations. Craving a Fribble or Fishamajig in Northwestern Connecticut? You're out of luck.

I never imagined the rate at which Friendly's Restaurants have gone away forever across New England. My wife is from the motherland of Friendly's - Springfield, Massachusetts, where the company was headquartered right outside, in Wilbraham. Most locations are gone from the Springfield, Mass area. All of the Western Connecticut/Litchfield and Fairfield County Friendly's locations are gone too- both Waterbury locations, Southbury, and Danbury have closed since 2019.

Only two Friendly's locations survive in March 2024, in all of New Haven County - Universal Drive in North Haven, and Rubber Ave in Naugatuck. The other five Friendly's still operating in Connecticut are all scattered around Hartford County - Avon, Bristol, Newington, Plainville, and Vernon. None of which are convenient for anyone from Litchfield to Southbury to Danbury.

I love Friendly's comfort food, their simple All-American menu features fat guy favorites - breakfast, fried clams, ice cream, burgers, chicken fingers, and other lunch and dinner selections. Hang on tight to the last Friendly's near anyone in Litchfield and Fairfield Counties, Naugatuck. You need this, especially after your recent Al's Hot Dog Stand fiasco, good save by the way. Naugy, you have something rare that most of the rest of Connecticut doesn't have anymore, don't screw this up, Fishamajig fans everywhere are counting on you.

There's a Retro Pizza Hut Inside This Amazing New Haven Air Bnb

New Haven is the Pizza Capital of the world, and if El Presidente comes back to town, I found the perfect place for him to sleep off the cheese coma - A very cool rental available on Air Bnb that features a classic Pizza Hut booth, complete with those big red plastic cups. Have a look at this place, it's available for under $100 a night.
